I've recently stumbled upon the new independent fund for women in tech (thanks for the pointer @shiftreduce) and I find this initiative amazing!

A big barrier to many women in entering the conference scene is the fact that many of the conferences are expensive or just carry a heavy burden of paying for travel. This new initiative helps women to at least remove the ticket price from the equation.

Tech conferences provide you with much more than just the technical sessions but also big networking opportunities and different activities such as CTFs and lock picking villages and other challenges, attending which can easily help the participant feel more capable technically and help reduce impostor syndrome which many women in the industry often feel.

I hope this initiative will work and will help many women get a chance to participate and be a bigger part of our community!

I already contacted the team behind the initiative to see how I can help – now it is your turn!

Let me know in the comments how are you participating!
